the only shooting of animals that happens there is on private lands by 60yo farmers (60% of hunting license owners) who have had the decades it takes to jump through the bureaucratic hoops to get a gun
separate licenses for firearms, ammo and hunting which they can just refuse even if you meet all the necessary parameters if they feel like it
compare that to USA where you can just walk into walmart when you are 18 and have a drivers license get a rifle, bullets and tags and drive straight to a public forest and shoot a deer,
or New Zealand where you can get a bow, just put your name into a website you get the permit for the area free of charge and can go hunting straight away with no take limits
so yes japan is the shittiest country in the world for hunting
