How do i make a DIY sheath for a axe? And some kind of cover for the edge.
Never used a axe when camping, only ever used folding saw.

trace the shape of a axe head onto paper, transfer shape onto leather,
cut out 3 times
use a compass to go around the edge of the middle layer to mark 1cm thickness and cut
use compass to mark .5cm from the edge for all red stitching lines
use a two prong punch along the marked lines
put together and saddle stitch or use a speedy stitcher

A good option is an edge cover that you can rivet together from PVC. PVC is the poor man's kydex. If you cut a section of schedule 40 pipe down one side and heat it up with a heat gun, you can male a nice sheet of pvc. then you can make an "axe mask".

because it stays on securely, but if you have a little cord on the beard of the mask, you can tug it off pretty easily. The trick is where you put the bottom rivet. Too far towards the handle and it'll get stuck on the axe head. Too far from the handle and it will come off TOO easy.

be advised you should use thick and stiff material to make this, the clothing leather from a fabric store wont be sturdy enough, use boiled veg tan leather or fabric reinforced rubber sheet
also a buckle strap going over the top if you want to be moving around quickly, stitch a strap to the back or add it in during cutting in the middle, left of the belt loop and a buckle to the front using another small strip of leather
