>>2355841>How much profit did you make gold panning? You dont really make a profit by panning only, panning is part of prospecting, showing the potential value in a piece of ground. Its a simple test to determine if gold is present in a creek.
However, you can have a lot of fun panning / sniping bedrock for course gold if your in the right place for it.
>What was your biggest gold discovery?my single best day panning / sniping generated an ounce of course gold from a section of bedrock in about 40 minutes. This was on a really remote piece of territory in northern BC, near Dease Lake if I recall correctly.
>What areas should I look out for?Research your local region for mining history, did it have any gold discoveries, does it have any active mining claims? If your region is not well known for gold, look for a region that is and start there. Next, you will want to learn how to "read" the land, which i can go into further if you wish.
>Overhead maps good or shit?Topographic maps are best along side geologic maps of an area, try and match up known mineral outcrops or showings to water courses or draws, places where water can work its magic and deposit placer gold. Hard Rock gold is different and i can go over that too if you want.
As for pics, check pic related, i can post a lot over a thread.
