Also, i dont know how much shipping is in America, but in Canada shipping something the size of an axe(or the weight of the axe head on its own) would significantly take away any value you would save by buying it used.

>>227620) in that other axe thread, so i can attest to how easy it is to refinish an old used axe(provided the cutting bit isnt totally fucked up) but finding a good quality handle is really hard... And all gransfors come with flawless handles... So unless the old one already has a serviceable handle(and if it does, i can promise it'll be smarter to 'fix it up' rather than replacing it with the cheap shit homedepot has available) you'll be faced with trouble later on.
