I like the evenk hitch, so easy to do with things in your hands, 0 dexterity required. I find clove hitches very elegant but don't tend to use them as much as I'd like, evenk has surplanted it. Timber hitch when an evenk wont do, alpine butterfly is always handy, and ofc the bowline.
>>2369070For fishing when presentation doesn't matter and the tackle I have to pull through the loop isn't massive I'll go with a palomar, mostly use a kreh loop for tying on lures though, gives it more wiggle. Albright for leader tying.
For fly fishing I use an albright for tippet to leader, a surgeons loop with a long tag end to attach the top fly and a davy knot to attach the fly.
I am always surprised how good the davy knot is, it looks like a piece of shit but doesn't often let me down, usually the surgeons loop goes first, but fly fishing is a tangly activity and tying anything fancier is too much of a fuss.
