>>2363664in regions that have rain water every couple weeks, have temps under 90-100 f, AND have vegetation covering the ground; shit breaks down IF
1) you are NOT A METH Head, not on CHEMO pills, and are not taking exotic drugs/chemicals
2) you dig down enough to get past the top soil into the lower level, preferable on top of clay
3) you also PEE into said hole after shitting(pee elsewhere if boozed up)
4) you throw some ashes into the hole(campers always have campfires) and a decomposition puck/powder(look up military latrine biopucks)
5) you put the dirt you dug back into the hole
you CAN sometimes leave the toilet paper in the hole too, IF its certified septic system safe(aka it breaks down VERY EASILY)
The reason behind pack it up and leave no trace is because
EVERYONE IS USING THAT TRAIL/CAMPSITE
Yellowstone would be full of more literal shit than soil and water if they didn't have amazing toilet systems in place to handle all that tourist shit flowing in
A shit hole in a literal middle of nowhere that only the most arduent(ok, meant to say someone walking on average 20-30 miles beyond the road access point) generally can work and break down your shit
A shit hole within a couple miles of the dropoff points for camping, would result in no grass/trees/animals or anything that people would want to visit(buffalo and coyotes have less fucked up crap they eat and more parasites that ironically break down their shit within weeks, maybe months on the surface)
