I've always had fun on my own. It's easier because you don't have to compromise or make anyone else happy on the trip. You just have to worry about yourself. I've always met people along the way.

No, just a different experience. Anyone saying otherwise has never done both. I was the lead organizer for a MeetUp group with ~120 members for about two years, my wife used to hike with me before health issues kept her away from bigger hikes, I’ve hiked with buddies, and I’ve gone with girlfriends before I was married.

It’s not better with someone else. This is just plain retarded. It’s a different experience, enjoyable by a completely different metric.
