>>2382390>>2382743Was out snowmobiling with my brother, he stopped on the ice to check something with his clutches.
I went back on the ice to tell him to get the fuck off the ice, as it was very thin.
My track cracked the ice a bit when I stopped, I tried driving off before it was too late.
It was already too late, didn't have traction to get anywhere, and the ice started breaking up more, it took longer than you would think, 5+ seconds.
Took 4-5 tries to get back up on the ice, as the ice broke every time I tried to push myself up, manage to think clearly for a bit, and threw my torso and arms as far onto the ice as I could to spread my weight, and finally got up.
Got over to my brother and we started to drive off, when we both broke through the ice after maybe 100 meters, probably some currents in the lake that had weakened the ice there, it was immediate.
Another round of struggling in the freezing water and we got out.
Had to spoon in the bath tub for almost an hour just to warm back up, luckily we both grew up /out/, with survival courses in school and everything, so we knew what to do, could have gone very wrong very easily.
Now I never go out on the ice before christmas.
