Have you ever gone /out/ for the purpose of immersing yourself in literature? Last summer I completed the Suffolk Coastal path which roughly follows the route of W. G. Sebald in his book 'The Rings of Saturn'.
I found myself far more immersed in his work, being able to follow his route, and see his impressions of the landscape and places we both passed. It found that it enriched both my appreciation of the walk and my reading of the book.
Have you done anything similar? Do you know of any books which have a journey that can be hiked? Or have you ever hiked to help concentrate on just thinking a la Nietzsche?
