>>2378424>Does that mean its still ok to visit?I'm French and tried to find some infos on this cabin but couldn't find anything. It's in the French speaking canton of the Valais but right at the border with the German speaking canton of Bern so maybe some Germanon could try finding out some things, idk.
Tbh I wouldn't care either way and would 100% go there, the chance of encountering someone in such an undocumented and inaccessible place are pretty low and even if you did they might just be randoms like you.
The only bummer would be for the door to have a lock that you need to get the key from someone, and only finding that out when you arrive there.
https://www.refuges.info doesn't list every mountain cabins that exist, I personally know some that aren't listed. It does list cabins/huts/shacks that are completely free and open for everyone, some that require you to get the key from someone in the area, some where you need to pay to stay, some that are temporarily/permanently closed, etc... My point is that the cabin not being listed doesn't really mean anything. As I said, I would definitely go there, but maybe I'd contact some locals beforehand (the local mayors, tourist offices, mountaineering clubs or whatever) to ask if it's open for everyone.
