Question for gardeners

I have a bag of potatoes like in pic related. Some of the sprouts are a foot or longer. How should I plant these potatoes? Should I trim the sprouts? If I don't trim them should they be underground or above ground?

I found some half rotten spuds in the kitchen once with some very long sprouts, planted them in April and harvested them around November. Got a huge return.

Not that anon but you're okay to cover the sprouts if they're just starting out, but if they're like in OPs picture I'm sure you could bury the sprouts down some and the sprouts will know what to do from there, most likely sending out new shoots, etc.

I had the sprouts above ground, but I'm no expert
They turned out fine, the sprouts just became the stalks of the plant
But yeah probably best to bury some or all of the sprouts
