If you separate England from Scotland our forest cover over the entire country is 5%, even lower than the Netherlands. We have no excuse either. Some countries in pic like say Iceland obviously haven't been cleared for farmland or housing, it's due to the climate, and Norway has less % than its neighbours due to its mountains (1# most beautiful place in Europe and not overpopulated, although the weather/daylight is bad I think).
