>>2383380going out alone is quite spooky but once you get used to it there's nothing to it.
my advice, not to say it's necessarily good advice, but what works for me is the following:
1. bring a hobby or two, make sure it's something you can do at night and maybe even something you can do inside your tent/hammock (for me it's photos, field recording, whittling, reading, sometimes even headphones)
2. booze and tobacco. if you don't drink or smoke skip this, if you do or you're open to either as an /out/ tradition these things are very meditative and relaxing, and also earthy and energizing. super comfy when I'm by the fire enjoying a puff of terbacky and some bourbon.
3. have good food. so important to enjoying yourself. even if you go hxcore and only forage, make sure you know you'll have good food
4. being warm, dry, and sleeping well is the single most important thing for short (1-2 night) trips. do not skimp on your sleeping stuff and comfort.
5. bring things that will help you feel and be safe; adequate and backup lighting, tools that can provide self defense if needed, possibly things like bear spray or bear bags if it's relevant to your locality.
5. remember, in the dark you're a part of the wilderness. when you're lying in your tent or hammock, or sitting quietly in front of smoldering coals late at night, you are as invisible to the world around you as anything. it's reassuring when you realize how hidden you can be in there anytime you want.
