https://mapstore.mytopo.com/Now the easiest way to use a topo map is this, you have to triangulate your position.
Lets say you standing in the woods, fuck, what do i do, first thing pull you your compass and your map, orient the map north, next, look for a land mark you can idenify on the map and around you.
"Oh fuck there is lake OP" you can see lake OP on your map, Point the compass at Lake OP, and find out the angle its at with your compass, then put your ruler on lake OP on your map, and find the matching angle on said ruler.
Example: say lake OP is due west of you and is 90* from north, draw a line on your map from Lake OP 90*
Then do the same thing with antoher land mark, "Oh fuck its mount IS'ah" mount is'ah is to your south east 120* from north, draw that line on your map, Now you will get an intersection of those 2 line which should be a rough location of where you are, you can double chek this my selecting a 3rd location.
"Oh look its the Faggot valley" which is 200 degrees from north draw another line.
Now you basically triangulated your opsition by using all three land marks of OP Is'ah faggot.
Now that you know whrere you are on your map you can then begin plotting your route by measureing distances and angles you need to walk with your average pace So you might need to walk once direction for 30 min then chance to this one for 20 then 30 back the other if you are walking at x MPH.
DOnt forget thats as the crow flies not taking in elevation so.
