>>238495I hot married in 2010 to a woman with paranoid schizophrenia. We had been living together for about a year before we got married and all seemed well. (she only told me about her mental health problems AFTER we got married)
She stopped taking her meds, gave up her job and started acting crazy. I was awakened one night with her wielding a kitchen knife above my head threatening to kill me. I went innawoods immediately. I grabbed a few clothes, sleeping bag and a rucksack before I left. It was winter and temperatures dropped to about -10c. I'm ex Brit Army and managed to use that training to keep alive. After about a month of living in a 'bivvy' (army slang - look it up) and begging food from farmers, stealing, etc I was offered a place in a shelter. It took me a while to get my life back in order. Homelessness is shit. I know it's tl;dr, but if you're interested, I can give more details - (survival tips, food, warmth etc)
