Lyme disease is a serious illness and it's not even the only bloodborne illness transmitted by ticks, and if left untreated an infection can have life altering consequences.

Treat your /out/ clothes and gear with permethrine, use bug spray (with deet) on your skin (especially your shins), wear pants, do not sleep directly on the ground, without a treated ground sheet, and always check your legs for ticks immediately after coming into contact with tall grass / ferns etc.

Been working as a lumberjack and have been hunting in Europe for years. Everytime I shot a roebuck they are covered with ticks. Like 20-30 of them, if not more. Never ever had a tick myself. I swear. Even when I was working in the most infested areas in Germany, I never got a tick. They just don't bite me. All my colleagues got them quite regularly. I'm just wondering if it's something about my blood they don't like or if they can smell that another parasite had infested me. In pretty sure I had a worm some time ago. Must've catched it wen shooting foxes. Lost it with ivermectin and some other drug I just can't remember right now.

Is there any evidence the tick dislike any of this? Like blood type or infested people? Any research in that?

I grew up hunting with my dad and same thing here. I can safely say I've had over 50 tick bites and nothing ever happened. You just have to catch them early. Early as in within the first few days of it attaching to you.

i found a tick on myself for the first time last week, from Colorado. don't feel sick but around the bite keep popping up what look and feel like mosquito bites should I be concerned. I heard lyme wasn't an issue here

If it's literally multiple mosquito bites it's mosquito. If you have a bullseye it's a sign of Lyme. Get a checkup, they check ur blood (if it's early).
I remember being in the hospital as a kid (sinus inf. From stress) and the kid next to me was diagnosed with late Lyme later on (couldn't move head down etc...)
There was also a big mixup where I was told his diagnosis
