Most hikes are better off using these than taking your car or truck to the trailhead. These have a purpose. If you head to sand dunes you can just throw paddles on and go have fun.

Trails in the west aren't short little baby trails. The forest roads and 4x4 trails literally go from paved roads in town to straight into the backcountry for up to hundreds of miles. There's several routes in AZ that are 200+ miles long one way and can connect you from Show Low to Winslow, or from Vernon, AZ to Mountainaire, AZ on solely forest roads or trails.

UTVs/SxSs are able to fit in tighter areas than trucks/SUVs and have a roll cage which offers more protection than a dirtbike or ATV in an accident. The hunters I know that use them all have the models with short beds to throw their deer/elk in after hiking it down from their hunting spots and ride straight back into town.

Back in the day, I had a 1984 Honda 250R three-wheeler and flogged the shit out of it barreling down fire trails. I actually bought an e.z.go golf kart to get to the mail, grocery store and medical center - all within 1 mile..so it seemed like a smart, fun, summer alternative. It's quite enjoyable and when I feel like it. I strap the golf clubs on back and take it to the 9-hole.

Fucking based trike rider. I had a 200x and a 350x. Rode a couple air cooled 250r's, never got the chance to own one though

I mean I am not sure if used cars are insanely expensive still due to clown world but why not just get a used car and mad max it out for like half the price? that way if it breaks down you can just go "NOT MY PROBLEM!" and ditch it
