I'm going backpacking with 3 friends and I'm responsible for meals. I'm having trouble balancing weight against protein and fiber needs-- last time I went hiking I developed tiny, hard poops from the lack of protein and fiber. Anyway rate my meal plan.
Stove: single burner backpacking stove
Pot: normal, heavy kitchen pan/pot.
Cleaning: tiny tube of soap
Dinner 1 (served near car):
Burritos:
Ingredients: chicken, pico de gallo, sour cream, beans in a can, tortilla.
Breakfast 1 (served near car):
Oatmeal.
Ingredients: oatmeal, water, bananas, brown sugar for those who want it
Lunch 1 (on trail): cracker medley
Ingredients: crackers, hard cheese, hard boiled eggs (~6 hours out of fridge), celery, peanut butter
Dinner 2 (at camp):
Korean BBQ and couscous
Ingredients: marinated beef that's been defrosting in my pack, defrosted mixed vegetables, couscous, water.
Breakfast 2 (at camp):
Jug pancake
Ingredients: jug pancake mix, water
Lunch 2 (on trail): whatever food remains.
Snacks:
Peanut butter celery
Ingredients: peanut butter, celery
Store bought trail mix
