The US army is destroying the Great Lakes

The Great Lakes water level is being artificially raised by the US Army Corp of Engineers in order to facilitate cargo shipping from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, a practice that is introducing invasive species like carp, zebra muscle, and aelge into the ecosystem of the already fragile Great Lakes region. And while in the short term this may raise water levels, if continued will result in a disaster worse than the Aral Sea.

Maybe the dams will fail and the water levels will drop dramatically, maybe the water becomes too acidic and the United States creates the world's largest pool of acid, who knows what would happen because we most certainly don't fucking know what we're doing!

You know the Niagara Falls, they can turn it off, the Canadians already turn it off at night to generate electricity. A natural wonder of the world turned into a disneyfied tourist attraction, how fucking sad is it there are parking lots and strip malls at the Niagara Falls?

My demands are this
>end all freighter transportation both interlake and transatlantic
>ban the commercial fishing of the great lakes, I'm not talking about Joe Shmoe and Bubba having a few beers to go fish, I'm talking about federally protected tribes from contracting fishing vessels to rape the lakes empty of its marine ecology
>stop all sewage and industrial discharge into the lakes, the diversion of water from the lakes, and any mining or drilling operations on or under the lakes

Shut the down the canals, close the dams, its our fucking water!
