On a quest to find cryptid stories, and came across this. I’m normally a /his/Anon, and was up in the Pryor mountains talking to some Crow guy about the legends they have up there of little people, when on the way back I figured I’d stop at a museum.
It was closed, but the curator has asked me to come back to look at their stuffed Hell Hound. The story goes something like this, very anticlimactic
>Early settlers get their sheep herd decimated
>Something seems to be killing them but not eating
>This was common in the cattlemen-sheepmen range wars, but these were particularly gruesome
>Some farmer sends his kid out with a rifle, kills a strange dog/wolf/thing
>They stuff it, it gets famous, the store owner who displays it dies and nobody can find it
Over 100 years pass before it was rediscovered, but this is it. I know nothing of animals, this may just be a dog. But what does /out/ think it is?
