>>2403300>bugout bags are a major league LARP. you're better off burying caches underground along the route to your bugout location.>burying caches underground along the route to your bugout locationNo anon. You are the LARPer.
My bugout location is my mate's place one suburb over, my backup bugout location is another mate's property just outside the city and beyond that it'll be a comfy hotel interstate. My BOB is for fucking off out of the house for a few days or weeks in an emergency, most likely something personal (like a house fire) or a localised natural disaster. I'm not disappearing innawoods to become some sort of commando because the Russkies have invaded or some shit. Sure, my BOB would do alright if I did need to disappear innawoods but that's just because I needed somewhere to store my /out/ gear.
>i find it highly implausible that a ready made bugout bag could adequately to cater to every disaster scenarioReally? The core of any bugout bag for any emergency is going to address the same basic needs
>>Food + water>>Protection from the elements and the environment>>Protection from people>>First aid and medical care>>Information management (including navigation, lighting, etc)>>Ability to rebuild your life once the emergency is over (insurance documents, sentimental photos, etc)>>CashIt doesn't particularly matter whether you're bugging out because your house is on fire or a flood warning has been called in or you're downwind of a nuke plant that's gone all Fukushima or your neighborhood has turned to CHAZ.
Sure, there are some specifics that might change (you might want n95s in the event of a wildfire or blackface in the event of a riot) but the majority of the your shit will be the same.
