I’m currently spending the summer in the western US trying to live out of my vehicle in wild areas. Can anyone recommend a specific national forest that I could spend the rest of the summer in that meets these requirements

1. Roads that a 2wd shit box would be capable of handling without tearing up the suspension

2. Relative solitude, I’m currently in Colorado and it is BTFO

3. Somewhat mild climate, i.e. not a desert. Abundant freshwater would be nice so that I don’t have to bring my own water

There’s probably a lot of places so sorry if the question seems dumb but I don’t have tons of gas money to go looking for them and firsthand experience helps a lot. I was thinking of checking out Bighorn in Wyoming. Thanks

You could also go search out BLM land where you can camp indefinitely. It's the same loophole that lets Slab City exist

can tell you though, the locals out here just LOVE seeing rusted out fuckbucket cars parked on the side of logging roads for weeks at a time.

there is no way that anyone would intentionally fuck with your car. more likely they'd leave presents and snacks to encourage even MORE homeless trash to shit up our natural areas.

clatsop state forest doesnt have a limit on camping time, you can stay there forever, its not close to any stores so expect 40 minute commute to get supplies. other than one retard who ended in a ditch i never had any problems with anyone in oregon, just be friendly with anyone you meet.

Tillamook state forest is pretty great except they limit you to 10 days camping at any one time, mostly because its close to portland so they get a lot of campers, but the area around tillamook is some of the best places to camp ive ever seen, its near the ocean. My personal favorite is along the siuslaw national forest because it runs up to the ocean, want to be near the ocean in summer gets way too hot otherwise. 10 day max then you have to move 4 miles away and theres enough space to spend the entire summer, get a water filter and propane tank and you can make it a month without a grocery run easy.

If you dont mind the heat you can get way up in rogue-siskiyou, i personally love the area along the elk river, the problem is any established camping spots are now overrun with hobos and its kindve scary but you can get out along any national forest road, theres also some of the best fishing ive had up in those lakes up there

Unfortunately that's not exactly true anymore. Low rent shitbags have decided that since they can't afford rent or proper housing, a better option is to buy an RV that is straight out of breaking bad, and then find the most picturesque area to park for weeks/months on end. When they finally fuck off they are constitutionally unable to not leave all their litter and random shit strewn on the side of the road. They are a scourge and should be treated as unfairly and with as much cruelty as can be mustered.

Basically as trash from CA continues pushing north, property and rent costs rise, these people get priced out of civilized life, and inflict their trashiness on the rest of us. Even in just in the past 3 years or so, prices in eugene have gone up so much that the trash-refugee-radius has increased another 20 miles.

Pick a city in oregon, and it'll all be the same. homeless camping out on every inch of public outdoor spots (public buildings, bike paths, parks) -- they're all claimed by homeless trash. And the hinterlands are now infested with shitty RV's, camper trucks and other assorted trash.

it just keeps getting worse -- probably because our governess and legislature uses them as a bioweapon. it's just bleak.
