Be sure to stay away from places that look out over a long sightline, as birdwatchers may tip rangers off. The rest of the horsterwold is devided up in squares of woodland to make management easier. Pitch your tent (if it isn't obnoxiously colored) anywhere inside those squares where it isn't visible from the path. If you can stomach the mosquitos, being close to a waterway is the best you can go, preferably next to the Groenewoudse tocht on the side of the stille kern, cars cannot on that side. Dogs have to be put on leash anywhere in the stille kern (there's a hefty fine), so you have less chance one goes into the bush your way.
Exact places vary as rangers are always working, just take a place that seems like its not gonna be visited at 8 the next morning, which means don't go anywhere near unfinished work like a line of trees where the sawing stops in the middle. Thursday is also a good day to do this, as the working crew is free that day.
