>>244632>Yes, because people go hiking on that one particular island so often. You mean that 300 km long island in Indonesia? Yeah. They're not all on precisely on the island of Komodo. Thankfully, you can outrun them, if you can spot them first. Otherwise, a knife is the best defence.
>Yeah, this is why people in Africa stay the fuck away from the water. And why they don't need a rifle, amirite?
>see previous responsesWhich ones? Those that say you need to wear a mask? Or those saying you don't go anywhere near them?
Regardless, hyenas will come for you. They travel over huge distances in a single day, so they can be in their nest in the morning, and in front of your door the next day. They go where food is and are hardly scared by anything aside from buffalos. You're not a buffalo, so you better find a nice shelter, ideally a car, as they climb on trees and ram doors.
Guns will scare a couple, but not a large pack.
>Wait... so, your post is about "hurr-durr, 'merrica just has bears and not this crazy other shit, like... uh... bears." Good job. You're just underestimating all others. I mean, your whole post is "lel, only Murrika is dangerous". Well, no.
Most bears will run away scared when they see you, they only attack in last resort, and they'll warn you for a long time before that, and only attack to chase you away. Very, very few bears will have a predatory stance.
I can tell you, I haven't had that chance myself with elephants, hippos, hyenas, wolves, lions and tigers. Either they will be in a predatory stance or they'll kill you because they know they can. I didn't randomly picked those I mentioned, I picked those that are the greatest threat because they always attack, and do so to kill. Otherwise, there are plenty bear-tier animals who will warn you before hand or try to avoid conflicts.
Bears are fucking smalltime, deal with it.
