I am shaping up to camp overnight this weekend in the woods at a large national forest an hour away from me. I'm pretty excited to do it except I am anxious/nervous/scared of sleeping out the night in the woods by myself. I don't have friends to camp with, or am old enough to purchase a gun so I just have a nice knife and machete with me to defend myself, but that's not really quite soothing enough. How does one get over this fear other than exposure? Also a QTDDTOT thread for similar questions.
