Went on a camping biking vacation with my family in June, had a great time except for one event. Me, my wife and 2 kids were biking a well known trail in the woods when 2 large dogs jumped out of a farm next to the trail and started to chase and bark at my 2 kids who were significantly ahead of us. They biked as fast as they could but the dogs caught up. One dog knocked my younger son off his bike and started barking in his face. As soon as I caught up to them the dogs both backed away, thankfully they didn't bite and my son wasn't hurt bad outside of a scraped knee. The whole encounter was probably only about a minute but it felt much longer. 30 seconds later the owner showed his face and walked, not ran over to the dogs while calling them with no sense of urgency. I laid into this guy and told him if I saw the dogs again I don't care if he calls them, I will kill them. He seemed totally unfazed. I get angry just thinking about what could have happened due to some careless fuckless dog owners negligence. From now on I'm carrying my multi tool knife with me at all times camping. Anyone else have any dog encounters outside?
