Has anyone used one of these double walled vacuum flasks as cold food storage for a couple days of hiking/camping? I'm thinking of trying it out for meat. My idea is to cram a NY strip steak in there, fill it half way with water to cover the steak, freeze it, then add a chicken thigh on top with some ice cubes. The chicken thigh would be eaten on night 1, and the steak would hopefully be thawed for night 2. Does this sound plausible to you? Sounds like an easy way to have some meat on the trail without the bulk of a dedicated cooler.
