>>2417953serious answer since i'm sure i'm not the only anon who runs incredibly hot. random protips:
1. Get a rain shell with pit zips. I know none of the budget ones have pit zips but its worth it if you run hot.
2. Get a over-sized, low denier wind shell and use it instead of your rain shell if your entire trip is below freezing. Patagonia houdini is an example of what I mean. There's an even better one for $8 on aliexpress but it only goes up to american size L.
3. Don't wear anything more than a 100 weight fleece for insulation when moving. Wear less than you think you need & only use insulation layers for the ambient temp. Use your rain/wind jacket for wind chills.
4. Down & fleece vests are kino. I like to bring a down vest with my summer puffy over bringing my heavy winter puffy sometimes. Fleece vests are also good for if you run hot for other reasons; they're especially good for dayhiking.
In general just wear less and set up your layering system in a way that lets you wear less.
