All of the above considered, yes you can eat it. No doubt. Numerous people on /out/ have eaten found mushrooms and we still have /out/ so that is saying something.

It is kind of like a chanterelle, but it it doesn't have a stem. It's just cap and gills.

Chanterelles don't have gills, they have folds on their undersides. The look gillish at a glance but on closer inspection are not.

First off, you are apparently too stupid to tell us what part of the planet you are from and hoping 2 blurry photos will suffice. Try again OP. Mushrooms vary widely from place to place. Hell even 200mi from my home there are completely different fungus species than are present here.

This is sort of off topic but does anyone out there know how to treat grain spawn mold? I'm growing some lion's mane and I noticed a couple grains have blueish green mold on them, but the other 99%of the grain has mycelium

A little contamination isn’t a big deal, mycelium has its own antibody defense system. Still tho, if you’re planning on doing large scale, you might want to chuck it to be on the safe side.
