Bike tour Europe

Planning on riding the Danube river bike path section from Germany to Hungary. Looking for advice for finding camp spots and what foods to pack or shop for. Also if anyone knows more about buying or renting bikes in the area.
And share some badass stories if you have them

My only bike tour story was when i rode from Detroit Metro to Grand rapids in michigan. the first half the ride was farm roads, and then the second half of the ride was along the Grand River which was pretty nice. I only brought a shitty sleeping bag and no ground cover because im a retard and I froze all night one night. Then to top it off when i got to Grand Rapids I got hit by a honda civic and it totaled the bike . Im still pissed that it broke my Miyata Triplecross :(
Hopefully my Danube river ride will go better

Despite what some shitposters might say here (the same people who have never left home, nevermind camped anywhere), it is entirely possible to wild camp (or rather stealth camp) everywhere in Europe. Legality in itself means nothing as it doesn't say anything about how laws are actually enforced. You are an idiot if you think that someone will be out there at 2am looking for wild campers in random bushes, forests or fields. The worst that can happen to someone is having a warning issued by some sort of a bureaucrat without an office (park ranger).

I think it depends on the state your camp is and if you've been using fire, etc. IIRC there's a technicality in Germany where bivouac is not considered a shelter.

Yes, absolutely. It's pretty cool to do if you're in actual wilderness, but you won't find much of that in Western Europe. For cooking you can always use a portable gas stove.
