When I was a child, and a man child, I played video games (which are for kids) a lot. This made me stay inside obviously. Now that I am an adult, I've kind of grown out of them and went outside to hunt and fish all the time before the wife was in the picture. Now that I have kids I take them outside and hunt, garden, and fish with them, in addition to doing other outdoor activities just because they're fun (street hockey with the boys, mowing the lawn/landscaping, etc.)
