My dad carved my initials and birthday in an aspen tree while archery hunting the month after I was born. If and when I ever get that opportunity, I'll go back to that same tree and carve my kids initials and birth date.

Pisses me off. People in my area treat the arbutus trees like chalkboards. I go somewhere thinking "this is great, nobody around for miles, true wilderness" and then see what used to be a beautiful red tree all fucked up with stupid graffiti. Nobody comes into the bush to see your shitty fucking gradeschool "art". Leave the god damned trees alone.
