And we only stopped putting them out in recent history. We shouldn't have stopped them just because people moved into the forests. They should have cleared their own homes and we should have let things burn

The West Coast has very distinct seasons of rain and drought. The summer is extremely dry, with most rain being in the cooler months.

Because hiking is such a popular activity in the west, and such a large portion of the US population lives there, gear choices and recommendations in the rest of the country often center around California weather rather than local conditions.

Can you redo these with red and flames? I feel like that will help people understand the global warming more better, the forests never had fires before - which is evident by only one species being fucking massive with huge burned spots on all of them and all the other trees nowhere near their size

yeah global warming is fucking the west up, in a historic drought, never seen anything like in my lifetime. When I was camping around hetch hetchy in 2018 I counted 45% of the trees on the adjacent mountain were dead, its apocalyptic.
The sequoia park almost burned down last december. If you ever want to see Yosemite or anything else in the sierras better do it quick before its just charred stumps.
