>>2426732alltrails is useful but the ratings are so fucked in my region (washington state.)
anything below 'hard' means i can take my 80 year old dad with a bad hip or someone in a wheelchair could do it.
and 'hard' ranges from incredibly easy, to legitimately dangerous to bring friends who don't /out/ to with nothing differentiating them.
ratings systems are fundamentally flawed in any climate with actual seasons, because they don't account for seasons. great example for any washington anons all the backpacking trails around mason lake. super easy hike most of the year, legitimately more dangerous than most of the mountaineering i've done in the winter. shit even almost died out there one winter. there's been several times i'll be in the parking lot staging, see some people who clearly don't know what they're doing and found the location on an app, and have to advise them to turn around and hike something else.
>>2426753if you post a specific enough general area i don't mind sperging out on sattelite and finding you some spots. if you live in a shit area, you just have to travel further.
