Protip horse flies hate shade. Stay in the trees with mosquitoes or carry an umbrella. A buddy and I got destroyed in smoky hills state forest beginning of July. Fuck MN.

Ive done it a few times. Me and a buddy do 18th century french voyageurs. We do a week trip once a year in late August. Its fun dressing the part, flint and steel fires and catching fish on hemp line and hand forged hooks.

On our out it was foggy and we paddled past some boy scouts silently. After getting back to our vehicle and changing we bumped into the same boy scouts we passed in the early morning. They were going on about seeing ghosts in the fog.
