I can't find an good TAT meet up forums for west to east rides. Considering how many video are posted about the journey, I would have thought there would a bunch of active forums looking to find riding partners for the journey.
Any suggestions for how to find riding partners in SoCal?

Most of it Texas and east is just smooth dirt and pavement most of which isn't super scenic. If you are in Californian you would probably be better off riding up to Colorado, Utah or Idaho and just spending a few weeks exploring around. I live on the east coast and am moving to co in a few weeks for the better riding. What dirt we have here is mostly shit. Pic related is engineer pass which is one of the highlights everyone talks about. Just stay out west and ride more shit like that. Although I get the appeal of a cross country trip I don't think the east coast has enough to offer.

I'd have to agree. I've ridden a lot of the country and a lot of it sucks. California is great for riding. Do all the off-roading you want, then hop back on the road and split when there's traffic. I love wildlife but you hardly have to worry about it in California.
