She shouldn't have just tossed the laptop out to save weight. Everything can be a valuable resource in that type of situation. Break the screen to use the edges of the glass as a knife or use the laptopas a small section of a roof or a something, idk. Id probably be eating the pills by the second day. That's one of the things I actually like about it though, she's not some expert on these things. She's not thinking clearly and makes dumb decisions like any city-bound person would in this situation.
I honestly expected things to just work out for her, and was pleasantly surprised how often shit went south.

I'm liking it so far. Obviously fiction, but shows what a stubborn, strong-willed city woman would do if she got casted away. What catches my attention are the few small details that were taken in account for, like her getting burned by the hot plate and the water being too freezing for her, etc. Also it shows survival how-to moments like tightening a tourniquet and basic shit people should know if fucked while /out/.

It got pretty horrible reviews, and I agree with them. It's filled with shitty survival tropes that you've seen a million times, and the pacing is too slow.

that being said, the acting is pretty solid and the scenery is beautiful. It was ok, but it kind of pissed me off.

I thought the protagonist was acted quite well and true enough to the kind of outwardly functional but really quite fucked up overachieving woman type, the others were kind of inoffensively generic. Did find it quite an enjoyable development of the protagonist through the demands of the outdoors and a satisfying ending. Would have liked to see more minutia of the dull parts of survival and more time put into creating the atmosphere of the setting but I know the average person would get little from that. Can forgive the silly implausible bits like booted marathon freedives and whatnot because it evoked many aspects of things that are usually skipped over, boiling the water for example, and it did give the impression that contriving a boiling vessel even was difficult in that situation, not the usual montage into super treehouse mansion.
