Actually, the Taco/ARE combo is a nice package.

Though limiting your hauling ability, the topper gives lockable, weather proof storage over the open bed for your /out/ gear. My gf has the Taco TRD edition and I wouldn't mind her getting the ARE toppere.

Body is shit looking yes, but it is in better running condition than most trucks on the road. It is my DD but i am slowly restoring it. Since i have it licked and sticked every year, they body was my last priority. I would also like to add, since i upgraded to electric fans and electronic ignition, it gets 13-15 MPG's, only a few less than that fancy Toyota op posted.
