>>2432797>>2436651I am begging you, use 5min in the search of your choice and learn to sleep flat in the hammock.
>>2432827Subfreezing I just end up hanging the tarp lower and tighter to prevent wind and and too a lesser regulate radiant heat loss. Mine has door flaps which is nice.
>>2438489Same reason sleeping a vapor barrier sucks. You want to push moisture out. I will say for very warm weather you can get away with almost nothing though. They are useful for keeping you alive because they are very small and light but they are not made for comfort.
>>2441125If anything, prioritize the underquilt next. Even light breeze can pull heat from you. Some people use pads in the hammock, I wasn't a fan. You can use an existing bag as top quilt. I've also tied a woobie up as a mid summer under quilt. However, now that I have it I use a 20F under quilt more often than anything else. It seems excessive but because you just hang it loose and vent heat from the top I use it from the fifties on down to 15F.
>>244821240F for summer, 20F for most of fall into winter. On the east coast even with the heat a lot of areas are already in the 50s at night and I find the underquilt is easier to take above temp rating than the the top.
>>2448295A little. As long as you can drop it looser you can vent a little. I have a hammock gear that works like this, the cinch at either end can be loosened or tightened and that allows you vent more or less out the ends. If it's just clipped on either side you might not have that ability built in.
>>2448880Go with the 11ft. The Eno is 10ft, so only about 8.5 ft of useable length with a ridgeline and the window where you can get a flat lay is there but small. I used one for a while at 6'3" 185lbs, it's doable but the longer hammock is infinitely easier to be comfy in.
