>>2434171>I was studying in Canada and got very into wilderness campingIm glad you liked Canada :)
Tbh anon I dont know too much about jungle as I am a leaf who has never been. However I would be wary of jungle criminals like the other anon said. I dont know much about Honduras and if its likely to encounter unsavory types out in the jungle, but assuming you can get to an area where people are no danger that leaves jaguars and bugs. I recall reading in a survival book jaguars are ambush predators and attack from the rear 99% of the time and kill by biting through the skull. I also remember reading theyve been known to bite the heads of sleeping people which makes me think a tent would be crucial.
From my limited reading, jungle camping seems like you need to know what your doing and maybe go with a few people.
But i would start on finding
1. A place where you are safe from criminals
2. A method of safely traveling and staying in camp that will protect you from jaguar (think bear bagging in canada but honduras equivalent)
3.Reprieve from the bugs. This is a huge one in summer trips in canada, a bug net or shelter just so you can sit back and relax for a minute without constantly being harassed, long sleeves and head nets work.
As for bug carried diseases this is Honduras specific again. Read up on what is common, symptoms and how to treat and see if there are test kits or treatments you can carry
4. Snakes?
Good luck anon
