Anyone have experience with concentrated heat pens or getting rid of mosquito bites?

I'm allergic to the bastards and the bites will itch for weeks. I didn't think there was anything to be done about it but I heard some people on the trail talking about ways to get rid of the bites.

Is it gone permanently after that or do you have to intermittently repeat the process? If you have to repeat it, is it any more effective than calamine or anti itch shit?

If you're at home, run it under the hottest water from your tap for about 20 seconds then press it into the bite until it cools
A knife and lighter can work in a bind but it can get hot enough to actually burn you
honestly my wife got a fuckton of bites on the back of her legs and I told her to just go press her ass against my car that had been in the hot sun for like an hour, most of them went away

So they're supposed to go away permanently? I tried it a few times yesterday and it worked for a little while but came back. I'm assuming it's because I'm allergic to the little cocksuckers or I'm not doing it right. I did it as you described though.

It's permanent for mosquito bites, didn't test it on anything else yet.
Rarely do you have to do it twice on the same spot, you'll know a few seconds later.

Fascinating, I had never heard of this before. Mosquito bites only make me itch for 5-10 minutes these days, I think partly because I've had so many. If my wife gets one though it lasts for days, so I'm going to suggest this and see if it works.

Anon I used that very one in your picrel and not sure if mine was defective or something but it got way too hot. It just replaced the bite with a burn. Good idea, bad execution. Best thing I have found is still just the hot spoon trick. If they made the one in your image with and adjustable temperature that would be great.

Or maybe my skin is just super sensitive or something, none of the reviews mentioned the problem. But yeah, I'll stick with hot water amd spoon until they get it right

I use alcohol, something like hand sanitiser or vodka sitting on it for a minute usually kills the itch.

works on anything itchy because it causes your body to flush histamines in response to the heat. I did the burning-hot-water trick when I had horrific full-body poison ivy back in 2011. It was the only thing that would make them stop itching. Was only temporary with the ivy, but it'd last about 5 hours.

The ivy sucked but the burning sensation of the itching leaving is the most intense pleasure I've ever felt. Like a hundred condensed orgasms. I kind of miss it.
