I have a small natural pond that I built three years ago but now I want to make it larger. The problem is that it is already established with lots of wetland plants growing around it so I don't want to rip it all up and destroy it. What should I do.

Build a second pond and connect it to the first one with a little stream. You could even get fancy and use pumps to move water from the small one to the big one to create a flowing stream with little waterfalls

Anybody else just want to dig a really deep hole sometimes?
It´s like something primal inside of me, that wants to shovel a hole all day long, and get as deep as possible.
I wish I had friends that would shovel holes with me. Like a shoveling club, that has annual meetings and trophies for members with the deepest hole.
I pity a man that does not find joy in the art of digging holes.

Dig a second one right next to it. Connect them with a narrow passage. When the second one has established flora and fauna, gradually widen the passage.

Disclaimer: I have no fucking clue about making ponds.
