I am planning a 7 day trip to the PNW in about a week and am asking for some recommendations on where to go.
I’m flying into Seattle and so far i am planning to visit the Olympic National Park.
I wanted to go see Mt. Rainer and down on to Crater Lake and maybe get down to Redwood national forest in norcal.
Is this is too much to fit into 7 days?
I visited the northern cascades last year and it was wonderful.
I want to see more of the PNW though. I’m bringing a tent and basically thats it so planning on staying in small campgrounds along the way.
Is this feasible?

You mean like crater lake in oregon? the famous crater lake? and california redwoods and washington? dude, you gotta look at a map, the west coast is fucking huge. id pick either seattle -> olympic + mt rainier OR redwoods in cali and you maybe could squeeze crater lake into there but would probably better just do do redwoods and fuck about in del norte a bit. try the weed if thats something you're into, laze about yknow.

id hate for you to get here and end up spending your whole time driving around between places. not that it cant be pretty but driving the coast is verrry slow going. id imagine youd rather spend your time camped and on your feet.

oh and to add to this, camping in california is a bureaucratic nightmare so plan your reservations accordingly or be cool with car camping it on a road turnout and still possibly getting hassled by highway patrol.

damn. so it’s not worth it to spend 2 days in the olympics, then see crater lake spend the night there, then go to the redwoods and fuck around there before driving back to seattle?
or should i just stay in the olympics/rainer area?
i might even go back to the north cascades it was that beautiful.
thank you for the advice anon, it does seem to be quite a bit of driving, which i’m used to.
I want to see as much as i can because this week is my only respite from soul crushing job

I've lived in Washington, and California. That's too much if you actually want to do anything. I would say to hit the beaches at LA push, then do a couple things on the peninsula on the way back east towards SeaTac. That's 2-3 days right there. Don't bother going around the peninsula. Just go back the way you came. Then you've got shit at Mt St Helens, Mt Baker, Rainier, and North Cascades. You might get to do two before your time is up. Wildflowers are in bloom at Rainier, so I would make that a priority.

what is LA push?
i visited baker and the north cascades last year and this time want to see the olympic park and the rainforest in there, as well as rainer/helens/adams.
is that a feasible trip?
couple days in the olympics then spend the rest down in the 3 sisters?
i’m worried it will be underwhelming compared to the sheer ruggedness and vastness of the north cascades

i dont see how you dont waste at least 3 days just driving if you try to do all of that. check google maps for an estimate of the drive distance between seattle and humboldt to get an idea of how much of a slog it is. since the olympics and rainier are on opposite sides of seattle its kind of perfect to just make a trip of that. you could also try going in to like uhh redding maybe and going to redwood national park. from there if you wanted you could either go to six rivers or you could go to redwood national park and then up the oregon coast if you want more ocean viewing.

not a bad plan, I was able to fit the Olympic national park, Hurricane Ridge, Hoh rain forest, the tree of life, Mt Rainier, Mt saint Helens, Multnomah falls, and Lincoln city into 8 days with 4 people, and we stayed in Lincoln for two days, lots of driving but also a lot of day hiking at all those places. pic related is one I took at Mt Rainer

First beach, second beach, and Ruby Beach if it's open again. There's something prehistoric about those beaches. The rainforest is great, but it's our dry season up here right now so you might not get to see it for how it is the other three seasons out of the year.

The Olympics are not weak. There are no roads through them, and none go really deep into them. You will have to hike up really see them. Do the mount ellinor upper trail hike. It's a ~3 mile hike with a few thousand feet gain. From there you can see that they're pretty rugged.

More than what you initially had planned. I think one still might come off that list. It's a big state, and the dirt roads here are fucking terrible.
