I use the True North Spyder gear (pic related) but I was wondering it’s worth buying more bags to add on?
What’re you must haves on the fire line?

we have mystery ranch shift plus 900 packs. the main compartment is detachable so you can run around with just your water bladder and fire shelter

You guys use those? Are you cutting hot line while wearing those? Back when I was in (got out early 00's) we had Alice packs and green canteens.

I'm on an engine so we rarely cut line. But we still use bladders when doing any type of initial attack stuff.

If you're in Canada you can google the wildland firefighting website for info, I think the deadline to apply is around November to get a job for that upcoming summer

The answer might be yes but the reality is that getting the necessary approval to (temporarily) move to Canada and work there, is pretty much impossible. Try it if you want but expect nothing.
