>>2443297This guys is more or less right.
I've been called a prepper. I don't think I'm a prepper. I just have common sense. I have 3 kids under 4. I also live in the country and have a generator (was given to me for free because my neighbor got a new one), and I enjoy having a 'real' fireplace and always have a shitload of wood. I always load up at Costco/Sams Club for the following items
>diapers/pull ups>baby formula>canned goods>other non-perishables>cleaning supplies>flourI also have water purifier iodine tablets and a big pot in case of a boil water advisory. I make sure my cars are up to date with oil changes and all that. I hunt, fish, and have a garden, probably 50% of the food we eat in this house is grown or killed here. Naturally I keep my seeds because I'm not a wasteful idiot. Always keep medical supplies handy. I have a knife sharpener.
We live 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store, and quite frankly with the supply chain issues since covid it woke me up. I don't consider myself a 'prepper' I just consider myself prepared. If you had 3 little bastards depending on you to live and have ever driven through a blizzard to get formula while your 1.5 year old is screaming crying than you'd know how i feel and why I do what i do. I also have 2 chest freezers for the wild game I kill or if I decide to go in on a cow with a buddy from a local farmer.
My city-fag/suburbanite friends think I'm a prepper. It really makes me blood boil. They've also told me "if shit goes down I'm heading to your place" and I told them they will be greeted with a fuck off.
I just think I have a brain. I'm not saying you need to be a CONSOOMER and obsessed with buying prepper shit. Like I don't have a gas mask and shit, but naturally because I'm an american I have enough guns and ammo to make the Rhodesian Bush War looks like child's play. This is all common sense stuff to me.
And yes I go outside all the time
