>>2443753Best if you can get on a boat to get out for salmon. Mouth of Gig Harbor is reliable as well as the slag piles off Pt. Defiance (it's where all the fishing boats are) only open wed-sat though because the state can't run the fishery for shit, don't get me started on it. Point Richmond has also produced but you get some stronger currents there.
A lot of lakes out on the peninsula, lots of trout, check stocking reports to see if they've added in more fish to any of them, season goes to oct 31st iirc.
A unique thing to catch is squid around this time to september/november when they come into the central/south puget. Basically, find a dock with lights and cast a squid jig down and then jig, squid are tasty. State lists a few good example areas but some of the better ones are the pt defiance marina or west seattle, but those are quite a distance.
If you really want kings, Neah Bay opened up not long ago, you can fish the outside of the halibut area (don't fish inside or you'll get fucked, they watch the boats on radar), and heading out of Westport is great too.
