Have you ever hunted before? If not, start by taking a hunter’s education class.
The best place to hunt bears depends on where you live, but probably somewhere in Alaska or Canada.
For a gun, I would say .30 cal or bigger is a good round, whether that means a 30-06 or a .300 win mag is up to you.
And to get it back to your apartment, you usually cut them into quarters in the field and then put the meat on ice. Then you do the fine butchering and package it to be frozen at home.

Bear meat is pretty bad eating and you have to be very meticulous when you are processing it because their fur and skin is thoroughly laced with parasites.
