Maybe buy a few Mtn House meals and check out your local grocery store to see what kind of dried instant soups / stews are available. Look for ones with the highest calorie count. A loaf of French bread, chunk of Parmesan & a stick of pepperoni aren’t THAT heavy and will supply enough energy for several days of hiking plus they can be eaten on the go & taste great.
