I then read that 99% of visitors to YNP never go more than a half-mile away from their cars, not stray from designated, developed normie areas, so it's actually not all bad. In the real backcountry, it's not crowded.
It's a lot like fishing: If you only fish at the easily accessible areas where Pepop, Memaw, Cletus, and Carla Jean roll up with their Zebcos and nightcrawlers to fish 7 days per week (because they're on the dole and don't work, and have nothing better to do), you're gonna have a bad time barely catching truck-dumped fish. Head out where you have to walk miles though the woods, and you'll have a good time catching native and naturalized species.
