Going Backcountry in the maritimes for a week and the high tides causes a lot of salt from the ocean to end up in the nearby rivers.

Last time I went I had to only collect river water at low tide and even then you could still taste a bit a salt, after searching there's some expensive ass indiegogo products designed for this (See pic) but for the money it's just not worth it.

Anybody else cleaned salt water while camping? I saw some diy distillation set ups on YouTube which looked promising
